Updating Infinix Hot 2 X510 Android One to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Infinix Hot 2 X510 Android one (16+2) is now being updated to the new Android 6.0 via OTA but this is not yet available in all regions.  If you will like to have a feel of this new OS on your device follow the method that suits you below

Use this tutorial at your own risk!

If your device is not rooted, follow any of the method below to update your device
Method 1
>Go to settings
>Enter About Phone
>Check for Updates
>If update is available in your region, you will see the package to download about 625Mb in size
>Download the package an install
>Phone will update and reboot

First Boot after this process will be longer than normal so be patient
Enjoy your new OS

Method 2
>Download the update package from here [Size-625MB]
>Rename the file to update.zip
>Turn off your device
>Hold Volume Up and Power button for about 4 secs to >boot into stock recovery. (if you see green android robot, press vol up an power button again)
>Use volume buttons and scroll down to Apply Update from SDcard
>Navigate through your SDcard and select the update.zip file
>Select Yes to install
>After installation is completed, reboot device.

First Boot after this process will be longer than normal so be patient
Enjoy your new OS

For some reason, some infinix X510 cannot boot into stock recovery. If yours cannot, download and flash this stock recovery file from here

Using Mobile Uncle click here
Using SP Flash Tool
>Extract the recovery archive 
>Launch SP Flash Tool Latest version
>Click on Scatter loader
>Select the scatter file (MT6580_Android_Scatter) inside the extracted folder 
>Click Download
>Connect your device to PC.
>Flashing the Stock Recovery to the device process will be completed in about 3-5 seconds and you will see a tick in green circle.
>Boot device into Stock Recovery by holding volume up and power button for about 3 secs


If your device is rooted, and you still want to enjoy this Marshmallow update, follow the steps below
>Download an install MTK VCOM drivers from here, here or here
>Download an extract latest version of SP Flash Tool from here
>Download the update package [X510-D5110-Androidone-20160107 FULL OTA BACKUP] from here [Size-835MB]
>Copy the update package to your SDcard
>Download an extract TWRP recovery for infinix Hot 2 X501 Android one from here
>Launch SP flash tool
>Click on Scatter loader
>Select the scatter file (MT6580_Android_Scatter) inside the TWRP folder 
>Click Download
>Connect your device to PC.
>Flashing TWRP Recovery to the device process will be completed in about 3-5 seconds and you will see a tick in green circle.
>Boot device into TWRP Recovery by holding volume up and power button for about 3 secs
>Inside TWRP menu, select install from zip
>Navigate through your SDcard and select the update package zip file
>Swipe to install
>When installation process is complete reboot device

First Boot after this process will be longer than normal so be patient
