Earlier this year Apple promised the launch of iOS 11
for iPhones and iPads with many and exciting new features. I’m really
interested the Augmented Reality (AR) and the Apple pay feature which is said
to be on the upcoming iPhone8. If you want to test iOS 11 on your device before its official release, you can install the beta. Note that you have to deal with a lot of bugs.
But as new and exciting stuffs come along, old
stuffs are taken as trash. This is sad but true and apple plans to do just that
as 32bits apps will no longer be supported by devices running on iOS 11. That
simply means if and app is not upgraded for a long time will no longer work on
devices using this new OS.
32bits app are still widely used so I think a lot of
people are going to be disappointed because most of them will not be updated by
their developers. The only thing to do is look for alternative apps that serve
same purpose.
It’s the end of the line for OS and security updates
on iPhone 5, 5c and 4th generation iPad. iOS 11 will not be
available to use on them come September. You can find a full list of compatible
device on Apples iOS 11 Review page
